Sure. It's usually called moonshine or white lightning. All American vodka and most other vodka is just a mixture of alcohol and water. Never buy moonshine. People have this romantic image of a moonshiner as some nice rustic sort. Those guys are the worst country lowlifes and they're likely to flavor the stuff with dead raccoon. These days the alcohol is produced by mixing sugar, water and brewer's (not baker's) yeast and letting it ferment until it stops bubbling. Then they distill it. If any wood happens to get into the mixture while it's fermenting, it will produce wood alcohol, which will make you go blind instantly and permanently. They have been known to use car radiators in their distillation equipment to save money on the cost of copper tubing. Car radiators contain solder, which contains lead, which is poisonous. Buy your vodka at a liquor store. It isn't very expensive even with tax.

you can't make a true vodka. but you can make a good vodka type drink from a kit obtainable at most good home brew shops. they also do the kits in whisky. type and many others. they are all good to use with mixers. if you get one watch how much you drink. they are pretty strong.

You can, but it is illegal to distill alcohol at home. You can make beers and wines but not anything that needs a still. Also you risk distilling methanol and not ethanol, methanol's the stuff that makes you go blind and kills you. So I wouldn't bother-buy it instead! I'd be too worried about poisoning myself and I don't think that's what you want to do either -there are far easier ways of doing that!

Yes, but legality depends on which country you are in.
It isn't that cheap to do so, and depends on which country you buy your stuff from.
Take a 1p flight to somewhere where Vodka is dirt cheap and bring some back to your country.

No, the law says that you are not allowed to make any spirits unless you have a license issued by the Custom And Excise people. If you did get one you then pay tax on any thayt is produced.

OK try this- get a mega bottle of 'dragonpiss' cider, 3litres 7.5% alcohol bv. (cost about 5$) Freeze it. Most of the water fraction solidifies as ice, leaving about 60-80% alcohol. You get a yield of about 1/3 bottle per 3litres of the cider. Safer and cleaner than any of the other methods...

YES THE RUSSIANS AND POLES HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR AGES USING POTATO PEEL. BUT WITH THE DANGERS INHERENT IN DISTILLING ALCOHOL IN YOUR HOME AND THE COST OF SETTING UP SAID STILL .FAR BETTER TO USE THE MONEY TO BUY MORE VODKA.
AND DONT FORGET TO KEEP IT IN YOUR FREEZER IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

yes you can. But there are problems...
1/ you can be locked up for doing it.
2/ do it wrong and you could go blind.
3/ do it worse and you could die.
4/spill it on mummys best table and fetch off the polish.
5/ drink it whilst lighting up a *** could blow your head off.
cheaper to buy it....................
