Take some Ibuprofen (pain releiver and anti-inflamatory). Alternate ice/heat every 20 minutes on/off for about an hour. Do not use things like Icy Hot while using a heating pad. If that doesn't work, try medical massage therapy.

Sometimes too much pushing on it can actually make it worse...be careful that you don't overdo the massaging.

This could be just a simple muscle spasm...I'd recommend ibuprofen/motrin to reduce the pain and also reduce any swelling that may be taking place.

If this persists more than a week, go see a REPUTABLE chiropractor. Watch out for the quacks, but there are some good ones out there. I actually had a neck vertebra out of place due to running into the wall while playing raquetball...in one short session, it felt a little better...after the second session it was back in place.

Something to remember about a week after the chiropractor fixes it and you feel better, do some physical therapy exercises to strengthen the muscles in your neck to prevent future injuries.

I think i would try Ben-gay or icy hot. then take something for pain and try to rest it as much as possible. Hope you feel better soon. Sometimes heat helps but do not use this and a rub at the same time.

Make an appointment with and go see a chiropractor. I was a non-believer in chiropractic care until it literally changed my life. It's amazing to be without neck pain and headaches after suffering with them for so long.....

ugh, those are the WORST! For me, a long hot bath and a good dose of ibuprofin/Motrin (NOT tylenol or acetominophen- that's for pain, but NOT for muscle pain)

that's about the best you can do... maybe a massage but the only thing to do is wait it out and manage the pain in the meantime!

that happened to me the other day. you can take tylenol or some kind of painkiller. that stops the pain, you could put some sort of ointment or something on your neck which makes it feel better. it took me 3 days to feel better, but i found it most comfortable when i fell asleep. hope that helped. 8'/

a heat pad will really heal it in less than an hour. They are unbelievable. If you don't have one head to the mall and get one of those beaded cloth heat pads. You throw them in the microwave for a couple minutes and they can heal anything.

I would try a heating pad for relief or massaging might also help. If you had a jacuzzi that would definitely help. Good Luck!

get a cherry pit bag, heat it in the microwave, if that doesnt work try putting it in the freezer to see if cold works. you want to drape it around your neck laying down.
