They both take faith to believe in. Why do you have faith in one and not the other?

To me, that's like asking, if you believe in God, why don't you believe in fairies, leprechauns and what not.

If you believe in God, why do you need to believe in ghosts?

I don't believe in God as a being. I don't share the christian view of God. However, I don't believe in ghosts either.

There are a great many unprovable things that a person can believe in. And sometimes they believe in one and not another. I think each person chooses to believe in one unprovable thing over another because of their own life experiences and upbringing. Whatever resonates best with them.

Since I can't give you the exact example you're looking for, I'll give another. Although slightly different, I don't really believe in God asa creator being, but I do believe in a strong possibility of life on other planets. Thus far, unproved, but I believe in it. Why? Because I believe it unlikely we're the only one's out there. And two, probably because I watch too much sci-fi. :P

I am a Christian and I dont belive in ghosts necessarily. I DO beleive that Satan can play tricks on our sight. It says that this world is Satans domain, and he is allowed to "tempt" us, and since he is the father of lies; he can make us see and hear things that are not true. You might think I am weird but I believe satan does that same thing when it comes to UFO's

I don't. At least, I don't think I believe in ghosts. There are some strange happenings here at my house, but I refuse to discuss them. :)

we do believe in ghosts, we just have another name for them, we call them demons. It's one of the easiest ways to tempt a person, attack them on another level. Plus, if some one sees a dead relative, whom they admired, it's natural for them to do what ever the "ghost" says. Saul (from the bible) actually killed himself because a witch brought back Elijah's ghost (AKA demon impersonator) who told him that he would die in battle, he didn't die, but since he got this message from the demon, he killed himself. See, demons can influence us humans by just putting on the mask of loved ones.

I believe that Ghosts are real but they are not real human beings but are in fact demons who take the appearance of dead people to fool us and further their lies.

Because Jesus said once to die and then the judgement.

He also told a story of a rich man and Lazarus but he wasn't allowed to go back from hell and warn his brothers.

i dont believe in ghosts because the Bible says when people die, they are dead... their soul is gone. I think ghosts are demons screwing with people's heads.
