take an ounce from a bar, usually 40%, pure alcohol, is 100%. so you would need 2 1/2 times less, since an ounce is around 29 fl oz, you would be looking at around 11 1/2 fluid ounces roughly, close though...........in english......a little bit less than a third

There are at least 3 answers to this, maybe more. A regular shot is usually considered to be 1.5oz with a double shot being 3oz. There is also a "pony shot" which is 1oz, though this is usually reserved for liqueurs and aged spirits.
