You put all the ramekins in a bigger pan and have water in the bottom of the bigger pan so that the creme brulee cooks evenly and doesn't burn. You don't put a ton of water in...just a titter haha...I'm sorry I just eyeball it and I don't know what that would be in measurments. But I hope I helped out a little!

The safe way to do this is
pre-heat the oven
in a pot bring a couple of quarts of water to a boil
place the ramekins in a baking pan
place in oven
pull the oven rack out a couple of inches
and either pour the water into the baking dish until 1/2 way up the ramekin or ladle it in using a large ladle
Starting w/ cold water takes forever
Carrying a pan w/ boiling water is dangerous

You take a baking pan and put water in it then set the ramekins in the pan. So when the water heats it gently cooks the creme brulee. I'd say you put 3 or 4 inches of water in your baking pan. Does the recipe tell you how much water it needs to bathe in?

Water bath is what you're looking for? Place your brulee in your ramekins, place the ramekins in a shallow baking pan, fill pan halfway up the ramekins with water, bake away

Place the ramekins in pan deep enough to add water covering a third of the ramekin.

all you have to do is put a some water in a pan but make sure the pan is deep so the water does not bubble over then put the ramekins in the pan.

Having been a Protestant and now a Catholic, I totally disagree. The Catholic Church was the first to translate the Bible into the local language. However, it was rarely used since most of the laity could not yet read. Catholic Church emphasize the sacrifice of the Mass, which happens on the altar, which is where the priest is. My Church has many windows and is very bright inside. I can follow along with the Scripture readings...and I do.

You need to try a different recipe - that's a little less complicated.
