I need to know about how much it cost to replace a window for a home?

I had a man come and show me windows from precision siding and consturction co. psc is there logo and i am trying to find out more about them i was really impressed but the price as alot i mean alot like 15800.00 7 standard windows and 2 sliding glass doors and 2 large 3 lite windows its like one big picture window and two small ones on each side . please let me know if you know any thing about them and if that is a good price thanks

Most places will do each normal sized window (I guess 30-some inches wide, by 4 or 5 feet high) for between 180-225 dollars.

EDIT: I think the price you were quoted was a bit high. You should definitely get some new bids - I wouldn't expect to pay more than 7000-9000 for what you describe, and that's on the very high side.

Windows are expensive.

I suggest you call some local building supply stores, and find out how much those same windows cost there. It is fairly common for labor to be about half of the total replacement cost.

It also would be a good idea to find some local contractors and get estimates from them, and see how they compare to the one you have in hand now.

That particular estimate does sound high to me also, but we don't know where you live... prices could be higher there.

sounds like a lot of $. get another estimate. did you call them or did they come to you? if they came to you, it's a bad sign. i mean, do you really need someone else to tell you what you need? a good salesman can sell you anything.
