if you want one that isn't expensive and bulky go for revlon. I have one that is like 1 1/2 inches wide and it works just as good as a $200 one but was only like $20 at Target.

I LOVE my CHI, I have absolutely frizzy hair and the CHI by Farouk manages to straighten and soften my hair from course hay to silky smooth. The only problem is the price. While it works wonders it is usually sold around $100 at salons. Also, it usually comes with one heat setting. In the end though it is worth spending $100-$200 for a CHI. I have had mine for over 5 years and never once had a problem with it.

Definitely go with the Maxi Glide Chi. My hair is sooooo curly and this baby straightens it like a board within ten minutes!! It's got these "teeth" type things that actually combs through your hair while you run it through, so it straightens all the strands, not just the top and matts down the rest. It controls frizz, too. This thing is AWESOME!! Plus, it's only about $75!!

Wal Cutek ceramic straighteners are not expensive and last well. My daughter has had hers for 2 years, still going strong, despite being left on for long periods by mistake. BUT, if you leave it turned on in the wrong place, you WILL burn something(in our experience the sheets and the bedside table top) Invest in a heat proof mat if you are forgetful. Best thing about the straighteners is that they straighten well and don't seem to cause split ends(she uses hers daily)

I bought a Sedu 1 1/2" straightener about 3 months ago and it's been a dream. I have really chemically damaged Latina hair and it causes no additional damage and straightens it real well (nice and flat) plus it lasts for several days. i got mine at www.folica.com for $125.00 and it is well worth it. There site has tons of positive reviews and pics from others who have used it. Hope this helps!

Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.
Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.
According to the Solia flat iron website, "tourmaline,
a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more
negative ions than traditional ceramic irons".

you'll get a chi for a $one hundred yet in case you'll get 250 you'll get a GHD. I have a chi & it extremely works extremely solid & leaves your hair searching healthful & promptly & not fried regardless of the indisputable fact that the GHD is even better effective.
