How do you think a wheel or wheels would help? Boats don't need wheels, they are supported by the water that they float in. Wheels would make paddling upstream much harder, as the wheels would provide a point of high drag in the water, thus Resistance. Progress upstream would be greatly impeded by this.

ACTUALLY I have no idea what a wheeled CANOE is. However I would think that rowing upstream is always tougher then going with the downstream flow.

noway, canoes are streamlined and wheels would throw that off, creating massive drag and it would be way harder
