For explanation: My youth group is doing student-led discussions. I am talking about suicide in a few weeks. I need a few different links from anyone here. I've been using Google and Ask.com for some research. Any help is appreciated! Links are most helpful so that I can fully delve in and investigate and reference, etc. A few of the questions that he said we should answer are:
What does the Bible say about suicide?
What are some stastics of suicide? [___ suicides daily, etc.]
Verses in the Bible
Christian Author's POV on suicide [going straight to hell or heavn/hell depending on the situation = it's up to God]
Atheist/Other religion Author's POV on suicide
I was thinking it would be great if I could find a forum that discussed topics like this, with Christian and non-Christian views and things like that.

I wasn't in violation of Yahoo Answer rules, I read them just now, and am in no way breaking them ..... It is a specific question, and I wasn't 'glorifying suicide' I was asking for links about what the Bible says about suicide.
Thanks for your concern.

That is pretty cool that you get the opportunity to speak on a topic that is plaguing our nation. The highest sucide attempts are in the middle adolescents. Between 17 and 18, the rate of sucide attempts drops. This might be because teens at this age have learned to deal with pain, sadness, upset moods, and get themselves the help they need. They also have developed better coping skills. There are sucide lines people can call (such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-999-9999) or your local emergency number (911).
Girls attempt suicde more than guys do, but guys are 4x more likely to succeed when they try to kill themselves. Reason being because guys use more deadly methods, such as guns & hanging. More 1/2 of all sucides, envole a gun. In 2001 alone, 55% percent of all suicides were with a firearm.
A lot of times sucide is an escape from a depression problem, life problem, relationship problem, rejection, hurt, loss, etc. Because sleep cycles, and hormones change so dramatically, that can effect there moods. The good news is that depression is treatable, with the right help.
Males-
Suicide is the eighth leading cause of death for all U.S. men (Anderson and Smith 2003).
Males are four times more likely to die from suicide than females (CDC 2004).
Suicide rates are highest among Whites and second highest among American Indian and Native Alaskan men (CDC 2004).
Of the 24,672 suicide deaths reported among men in 2001, 60% involved the use of a firearm (Anderson and Smith 2003).
Females-
Women report attempting suicide during their lifetime about three times as often as men (Krug et al. 2002).
In youth,
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people ages 15 to 24. In 2001, 3,971 suicides were reported in this group (Anderson and Smith 2003).
Of the total number of suicides among ages 15 to 24 in 2001, 86% (n=3,409) were male and 14% (n=562) were female (Anderson and Smith 2003).
American Indian and Alaskan Natives have the highest rate of suicide in the 15 to 24 age group (CDC 2004).
In 2001, firearms were used in 54% of youth suicides (Anderson and Smith 2003).
In the Elderly Folks,
In 2001, 5,393 Americans over age 65 committed suicide. Of those, 85% (n=4,589) were men and 15% (n=804) were women (CDC 2004).
Firearms were used in 73% of suicides committed by adults over the age of 65 in 2001 (CDC 2004).
Check out Acts 16:27- & Matthew 4:5. These are only 2 of many. Check out the biblegateway.com, or the blueletterbible.com
I surely hope that this info I gave you, with all the links, are most helpful. Maybe God has called you to pray for those feeling depressed, and thinking on suicide.
May God use you to speak into your youth group, and touch the lives of those that are hurting. Even in your community as well. May the annointing, & fire of the Lord fall on you. Blessings!

This is a great verse from 1 Cor. 6:19-20
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body,"
Your body is a temple-treat it as such.
This is perfect to show how your body was created for God, and you have no right to end it. Only God does.

It is clearly a sin, and never God's will, yet as for whether the one committing suicide would go to hell, that is up to God to know based on what he knows of the person, and whether they had genuine saving faith in Christ?
