get a mix of lettuce, like the bagged variety- "spring mix" has lots of yummy different lettuces in it. slice tomato, onion (not too much), maybe include other things, like sliced radishes, carrots, chick peas/ garbanzo beans (actually really good in salads), bell peppers, seasoned croutons; make it yummy and colorful! and top it off with a good yummy dressing. choose a flavor of dressing that corresponds with (or at least dosnt clash with) the other foods that will be eaten with the salad; french, red wine vinegar dressing, theres a really good teryiaki flavored dressing. have fun with it!

I made a green bean caesar salad that turned out to be pretty good.
Just boil the green beans (and make sure they are either fresh or frozen, no canned) and after boiling them for about 5 monutes, blanch them in ice water.
Drain the beans, add caesar dressing and crutons, and toss. It's fantastic!
(You can also use green and yellow wax beans =] )

This is good,
Get some dark green lettuces (have more flavor, prettier, and more healthy)
Add some sliced purple grapes and sliced purple onions.
Serve it with red wine vinagrette.
I love it, call it "purple salad".
:D

I like fruit salad. I like to cut some watermelon, mangoes, cantaloupe, peeled oranges add some lime juice, salt. or lime juice and hot Mexican bottled sauce or lime juice and Mexican fruit seasoning.
I also like a simple salad like iceberg lettuce with diced avocado, lime juice and salt.

instead of croutons, crumble pretzels, salted or not, they are lower in fat and all that other bad stuff. the crunch is great too and kids really love it!
