Mushrooms are a fungi until you put them in your gravy and eat them, then they are considered a vegetable when eaten. The word vegetable has no botanical meaning, only a culinary one.

No. mushroom is a fungus.
A mushroom is an above-ground fruiting body (that is, a spore-producing structure) of a fungus having a shaft and a cap. By extension, mushroom also designates the entire fungus producing the fruiting body of such appearance, the fungus consisting of a network (called the mycelium) of filaments or hyphae. In an even broader sense, mushroom is applied to any visible fungus, or especially the fruiting body of any fungus, with the mycelium usually hidden under bark, ground, rotten wood, leaves, and other surface matter. The basidiocarp is the spore-producing structure of a "true" mushroom, while a toadstool is a basidiocarp that is poisonous to eat.

Mushrooms are not vegetables. Mushrooms are part of the kingdom Fungi, this mean that they are in a completely separate kingdom than plants. The ‘mushroom’ part is a reproductive structure of the fungi. Mushrooms are characteristic of the class Basidiomycota. The mushrooms that are edible are those of the genus Agaricus.

No, I don't think so. Mushrooms don't belong in the category of fruits/veggies cuz they don't have seeds inside or a branching root system (they have a whole different way of reproducing and growing). Mushrooms are just big fungi that have special nutrients that are very good for you.
Personally, I hate them cuz they taste and feel nasty! Xb

No, they are fungi. It is not a fruit or vegetable because there is no seeds to grow mushroom, but instead it is spores.

mushrooms are actually the reproductive structure of fungi's. Yes the fungi that grows on your bread or give you athletes foot. These release spores that are dispersed by the wind.
Scientifically they are fungi. (singular fungus) however, people call it vegetable.

They are the fruiting body of a fungus. There are those who think they should be in a separate Kindom to the true plants.
