Many people say hands are not plausible, but there aare 2 things to remember. The Bible says it was hands, and 2. You are assuming Jesus was free hanging. He was not. His entire body weight was not on his hands. As soon as the feet were bent upward the pressure on the hands became exceddingly less. Also, back then they used to break the knees of the people still hanging so they would die quicker if they hadn't died within a set time. Jesus was the only one this did not happen to. They never used the sledgehammer to break his knees. A healthy persons hands could assume a lot of weight. The nail would not have slipped through the hand. There was an entire study done on this. Besides that. If the Bible says hands. Then I believe it was. Just because one cannot explain every aspect of something, doesn't mean it didn't happen that way. If you assume the Bible can have error in any part, than you assume other parts of Gods word are not accurate also. Being a Christian I just cannot concieve that my Father would tell me a lie.

The story of the crucifixion was written in koinos Greek, not English. Some words do not translate perfectly from one language to another. This is true for the word used to describe Christ's being nailed to the cross.
Traditionally, it is translated as "hands", which is the best fit in English. However, it's not a perfect fit. The Greek word for "hands" includes both the hands and the wrists.
To answer your question literally, according to the original language of the text, the nails were put in the area of His body that includes the hands and the wrists... Scripture is no more definite than that.

Popular legend portrays the nails through the hands - but this would not have worked as the weight of the body would have caused the nails to tear through the whole hand. The only way it could have been done was through the wrist. But that was not normal Roman practice. Victims of crucifixion were usually tied to the cross, and left to die of exposure.

According to medical doctors it would have had to be in the wrists just to be able to hold the body there on the cross....watch....most of us Christians know that the wrist is included as part of the palm of the hand.

it was actually the Wrists. it wouldnt have been physically possible for his hands.
--- and no it wasnt both, they had been doing crucifixions before christ, they knew that nail through the hand would rip out from the weight of the body.

The Bible says "hands", some historical evidence says wrists. Regardless if whether it was hands or wrists, the result was the same, Jesus died for our sins, and rose again.
