Comfort, wearablility, stain resistance, and just plain coolness. Also don't want to spend alot since they grow out of their clothes every other week( or so it seems)

I know what brands i like. I prefer unbranded brands as such with little or no labels on the outside. Cut is really important. It has to hang right. Bargain is a £20.00 t-shirt for £2.50 on e-bay. Fair price is knickers and vests from Matalan and socks from Lidl's. Rip off is John Rocha at Debenhams and most of what Mothercare sell.
If it feels as if it will loose shape after a few washes i won't buy it. And certain shops i have had stuff come apart after a few washes and i've not been back there since either :-)

I buy clothes at Wal-Mart and Target on the sale rack. They are inexpensive and hold up well. I try to find something comfortable and colorful. I also get hand-me-downs from people for my daughter. I got some clothes at the consignment shop too. When the kids are older they can have more of a hand in choosing their clothes, but I have the final say.

Comfort and durability. I have 2 boys, so clothes have to last through 2 little beasties. If you're paying adult-clothes prices for kids' clothes, that's too expensive. I've found that Target has good prices for jeans and sweats. T-shirts are cheap.

For girls, I have no idea. We're much more the fashion goddesses...

Buy what you like & what you can afford. I always bought a size too big because they grow soooooo fast.
At this stage of the game who care's if their clothes don't come from The Gap !!
