After 9 years, I think it's time I move on. I'm a Firefighter and she's in school to be a police officer. I don't think this is going to work. I think she's cheating on me anyway with another cop. It's not about trust, but I just don't want to hear about police work. She'd be better off with that one cop anyway. What's a good way to break it off? She doesn't wanna let me go but I know she's cheating, and I don't want a cop wife anyway. How do I go about the breakup??

I recently just went full time as a career Firefighter and there's too many women out there not to take this up. I love her but we were together for 9 years, started at a young age, have a child... but it's not working anymore. Plus my suspicions too.

It's clear that you really don't care about your girlfriend at all... You've stayed in that relationship because its comfortable... It's pretty sad that she's wasted 9 years of her life, you should break up with her as soon as possible don't even bring up your suspicions of her cheating unless you have proof. Just tell her you want to move on and that you don't want her to waste anymore time with something that isn't going anywhere.

I really don't care what happens to you and your wife, but what about the child. Is the child not worth the two of you making a family until the child is grown? If you do divorce, stay single until the child is grown. Give your child a chance. Divorce always makes the child feel guilty. They think they failed. Children don't understand and they don't want to understand. They just want a normal family with father and mother at home and attending school functions.

Why did you not talk about careers before and you would have known that you didn't want to be with a cop. Are you using the fact that you don't want to be with a cop to say that she is cheating on you. If you don't want her tell her stop being a coward
