i was tryin to play a game,which said i hvent got D3D etc... so it did not startd. usually i used to instal Dirext X n it starts workin but this time wen i try to install Dir X it says that it has been installed successfully n ready to use but , its not been installed neither it works

When you do go to Start, Run, and enter dxdiag into the box and hit enter, be sure to let dxdiag run for a minute or so while in analyzes your system. You'll be able to see the green progress bar on the lower left of the dxdiag window. If you start looking at the different pages before the testing is finished you won't necessarily have accurate information.

Click Start > Run and type in dxdiag then hit enter.
