responsible, babysat before. knows what to do incase of emergency possibly cpr kids put everything in there mouth's. 13 is a great age to start babysitting but people are very protective of there kids even more now than ever before. all they need to do is give ya a chance.

If I knew the 13 yr old girl, then yes I probably would. I was 13 when i started babysitting my neighbors kids who were 1 and 3 at the time (of course that was over 20 years ago :-) ).

If I were you I'd look into getting a babysitting cert or go and get a cpr cert or both! Then I think people would feel comfortable letting you do it. Maybe volunteer a couple hours a week at your local elementary school to get some more experience. Then have the teachers write a note on how you did. I'd be uncomfortable with a 13 yr old babysitting a young child.

Depends on the 13 year olds. My girls favorite baby sitter is 14 but I have known her forever I babysat her from 3 Mons up! Shes not allowed to sit alone so she is allowed one friend or family member I approve of usually it is my 18 year old brother they are best friends(no that's not weird shes also our cousin) I insist on two of them because I have twins and they are a hand full Like I said depends I have a 25 year old friend who I would not allow to babysit. Its mostly a trust thing and they have to truly care about my girls Baby sitting classes and CPR are a must and My grandmother lives next door my girls are still really young

My husband and I have a 7 month old son. I was going to allow my 12 year old cousin who is mature for her age to watch him.

My husband was not ok with that decision. So we did not allow her to watch him.

It sounds like you could kick some butt if someone would break in. You seem like you have experience with other kids. I dont see a problem.

My husband says only if you can drive to get help if needed. Thats what 911 is for.. LOL

It would depend on the age of the children you are looking after and how well you know them and their parents. I would look for someone who i trust, is mature, knows first aid and has experience. Personally i wouldn't think a person of 13 would be mature enough to look after my 5 month old baby.

I wouldn't, but my kids are still very young (3 years and 2 months). None of our sitters are younger than 17. They have all taken babysitting classes (check your local library), and have training in CPR and first aid.

it all depends on the maturity level of the girls. when i was 13 i took care of a 6 month old and every once in awhile his mom (she had cancer) it was a hard situation to deal with because the father would go out and leave the baby with his wife and she couldnt take care of him so she would have me go over and take care of him and also take care of her. there were also times i would watch the baby when she was in the hospital.
but i think as long as the girls are mature they can do it

well, my sitters are ussually family members. i have left my son with a 14 year old when he was 1 but i trusted her completely. i didn't leave them for too long. so i guess i would need to trust u and feel u are emotionally okay with sitting for a few hours.

when i was 14 i used to babysit my two baby neices with no problem.

It depends on the age of the child you'd be babysitting. You couldn't really babysit a child to close to your age because they wouldn't listen to you. I babysat at your age, but never anyone older than like 4.
