It is very hard for some people to accept a gift from God even if they believe. They do not understand that we do not have to see him or hear him for him to see us and hear us.

Sheesh! I think the answer is clear if you read most of the above responses. I wonder if this is how bad it got when God sent the flood? DANG! Sounds like selfish little 2-year-olds posted!

truly not sure what you are talking about. People who have faith can accept a gift from God, because it means that they are following his guidelines walking the straight path. However, if a gift from God, is something you consider materialistic, then that's all together different.

Basic human condition is that a person will only treasure that which she finds for herself. We more often misuse/abuse/trash free gifts than treasure them.

Where did he put it? Did he sneak down the chimney again? That is why the dogs were barking last night, sounds like they got a good bite out of his pants again. That will teach God to go and give me something without telling me before hand.

It depends what gift he"s got to offer. I need something more thrilling than a promise of eternal life. I want things now, material things. A new car would be nice.

personaly I don't know anyone who has gotten a gift from god, so I have no Idea. But assuming that someone did get a gift from god and knew it came from god or better yet god would show up in your house and say hey _______<<< I'm god here is a gift from me, I don't think anyone would reject it, I mean who wants to do that and piss god off I KNOW WOULDN'T. but really come on.

The most likely reason is that they believe in a different religion, or in no God at all.

Why is that so hard to understand? Christians see their religion, their bible as the truth. They often don't seem to realize that people of other religions or beliefs also see their OWN belief as the truth.

how are they to determine that it is a gift from god, and not just good fortune, luck, fate... or as I like to call it LIFE.... not all of us are going to accept a "gift from god" when there are several other reasonable explanations for such "gifts".
