It is about life, spannerhead.
Thou shalt not kill.
"for those who say that jesus was about life! all you christains ever talk about, is what happens when we die!"
That's because eternity lasts for ever and life in this world lasts 80 or so years. 80 years isn't very long. Maybe all you hear is about when we die and you should listen to the rest of the message. Jesus was about spiritual life not everlasting mortal life.
True, many Christians do focus just on the afterlife as a way of comforting the suffering whereas we should be thinking of it as life and our existence now as pre life.

I think religion is about life. I have been a Christian most of my life and never thought about killing anyone. If you are talking about defending your country against the enemy that is a different story. Sometimes people have to defend themselves. You cannot invite a terrorist to your tea party to make a better world.

Christianity is about making an effort to lead a rewarding and constructive life, with the prospect of eternal life in the future.

Religion is about whatever you make it about. Most of it is based on "ancient texts" which were never accurately translated. Everyone pretty much takes what they want from their religion or lack of religion.
Note to others... Answer the question asked... this wasn't an invite to preach your religion.

Religion is about how to live your life. Why don't you go learn about religion before you judge 75% of the people on this planet. buddhism is almost all about personal conduct and if you read most holy books they all promote peace. Now go get educated. If you don't do good deeds you go to a negative afterlife, whether it be heaven or sheol or what the hindus believe.

Loads of religions are about life and not about killing - mostly they're the Asian religions such as Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, etc, and also Zoroastrianism, and more recent religions such as Baha'i.

I thought it was. I must be in the minority, because I'm all about life and respecting all people, regardless of religion or anything else.
