New York city will start to lose its coast lines and in time, as the ozone layer melts away like icecream on a hot day, all areas of New York city and All coastlines and land masses that are below or just too low for the rapidly rising sea levels, will be overwhelmed by the Oceans of the World.
If You also wish to know what Should/Could be done (in my opinion): As a People, a Species, We must Unite and live as true Human beings, without the use of money and government, just organized communities. Only that would allow for the necessary mass migrations/movements/dislocations from whole cities by the 100s of millions that need to be moved inland, like in the Mid-states of the U.S for example where there is much open and unused land that is surely safe from rising sea levels.

There are so many more Katrinas waiting to happen, and it ain't something new either.

Thanks for the oh, so possible question/scenario/prophecy.
