It does hurt, and for me the worse part was the 2 inch square "at the top", everything else was surprisingly bearable. If you maintain it, like go every 4 weeks, it will not be so bad... but if you let it go it will be just as painful as the first time you get it done.
I personally, have chosen to go the electrolysis route because I had major issues with ingrown hairs.
As far as the pain comparison, if the "waxer" is any good.... it will not take any longer than 20 minutes. So you are in pain for a lot less time than if you were getting a tat.

I always wanted a tattoo and I don't know if it would hurt cause I have a high threshold for pain. On the other hand I could not imagine what a Brazilian wax feels like that must hurt like a *****, but thankfully I am not a female so chances are I would never experience the pain brought forth by the tortures one goes through for beauty. Damn Brazilians, but hey their women are notoriously hoTt too bad they are incorrigible and I would know I am half Argentine along with half Cuban. Argentina > Brazil, but I still wouldn't mind going to Rio during Carnival maybe the topic of Brazilian waxing comes up lol.

I think that I would by far prefer getting tattoos over getting a brazilian wax.
A few of my friends said that it just stings for a while, but then again... if you have dry or sensitive skin, it could hurt very badly. That is why I refuse to get one. I have very sensitive skin. I can't even use Nair becuase my skin breaks out in hives!

No, it doesn't hurt that bad to get a brazilian wax. You should get the moisturizing wipes to use afterwards, because they are soothing and make the pain less worse.

Never had a brazilian, but I did wax my bikini line once.....only on one side. It hurt like a *****, and it bled too. I just used Nair on the other side. I will never, ever do that again- Nair works great for me!!

It depends how you are. My tats didn't hurt that bad and either did the waxing. Stings for a second then it's over.
