Connection problem?
i have cable tv straight connection to the back of the tv (no box) and i also have a HD local channel receiver. My problem is i have an attick antenna that is to be connected to the receiver box however it does not reach of course so what i did is got a splitter to connect the over the air antenna and the cable line in order to watch HD local channels with the box and cable but the problem is some of the cable channels get distorted that way. How can i do this without distoring the signal?

I would splice the cable to make it longer and get rid of the splitter. I think it's weakening your signal.

You need to get a UHF/VHF combiner. It filters out the UHF signal from the cable TV signal. You can pick one up at Radio Shack.
