A girl at work, who I think is interested in me was talking with me today. We were sitting side by side, her at my right. Most of the time her legs were crossed toward me. I couldn't remember if her arms were crossed as well, maybe some of the time. (But what else can you do with them?) She didn't lean in, only when talking. We were at work, so that couldn't really happen anyway. But for legs crossed toward me, what does that mean? (Other signs over the past few weeks as well: smiling, showing pictures of pets, noticing a recent haircut.) Seems really shy though or unsure of how to proceed.

She also gives a small wave almost everytime she sees me, but then looks away and keeps on walking or doing whatever she was doing.

If she was at your right, she would've crossed her right leg in order to be crossing towards you. Right handed women tend to cross their right leg first - it's just instinct.
If she's left handed and crossed her right leg, that probably just means that the way she was sitting made it more comfortable for her to cross her right leg.
I wouldn't look too much into that. Same with the smiling - everyone smiles. Unless she smiles around you more than she smiles around anyone else, it doesn't mean too much.
The showing of pets and noticing a recent haircut is something to be looked into. It means she has some interest in you. And the fact that she took the time to tell you that she noticed your new haircut is even more of a bonus.
Although she is shy, it doesn't mean you should act any differently toward her. If you're interested in her, tell her. Ask her out on a date. Even if she says no - she can change her mind. And since you started out with nothing, you can't lose anything!
Good luck.

She's taking an interest in you. She's telling you about herself and her pets. She's letting you know that she's taking a notice of you to know that you have had a hair cut.
If you are interested in her, I would continue to seek and enjoy her company and see how things progress. Stop by and talk to her during the day, but just once or twice. Ask her about her job, work, pets, or whatver conversation strikes up. Don't over do it. Invite her to join you for coffee or lunch once in a while to see how it goes. If you have a company cafeteria, that's a great way to started. Otherwise, just go to a local Starbucks if the weather is nice.
Since she's a coworker, you have to be more cautious about taking the relationship too fast.

If she shy like you said then she's so in to you. She's trying to make an attempt but she may not know what to do or say. Just take it slow at first. Invite her to lunch, at work then she doesn't feel like it's a date. Bring some other co-workers too. She what she does there and how comfortable she is around you then and take it from there/.

It seems as if you have pretty much answered your own question. She does seem interested in you. And psychologically speaking, crossing legs towards someone indicates interest, as does mimicry. If you know she is shy, make the first move.

Sounds like she is interested--to me BUT I have always made it a policy to never to date anyone at work. If you do become a couple or involved and it breaks up--it can be very uncomfortable--for both parties. Sorry--just some advice.
