Hi. Have you ever thought of a fundraiser with eco-friendly candles?

I'm an independent distributor for a company that makes a cleaner burning, all-natural (100% biodegradable), truer scented candle. Candles that contain a petroleum based paraffin leave black soot on the jars and house walls. I believe we also breath this into our lungs. The candles I sell do not produce that black because of the all-natural ingredients, and the scent lasts right down to the very last burn.

We offer a very generous fundraising program, and it can be done for personal reasons. I know a distributor who did a fundraiser to raise money for her sister, who had breast cancer, they wanted to buy a wig because of the chemotherapy effects. They ended up raising enough money for her to buy several wigs!

For every jar sold, you make $5. So if you got 10 people who each sold 25 candles, you would profit $1,250. There is no cost to the group. I provide all the materials.

On average about 85% of all families buy candles at least once a year, and candle fundraising programs have been as successful, if not more so, than most the products (gift wrap, chocolates, magazines, etc..) sold today. The jars burn for approximately 90 - 100 hours so they are a good value for the money.

Please visit my website for more information or to request a free fundraising packet. You can find my contact information there as well.

Whatever you decide to use as your fundraiser, if you and your group put forth the effort you should be successful.

Best Wishes.

PS. Location is not an issue either. I am currently helping a church in Mississippi raise money, and I live in Vermont! :)

At your work you could have a sponsored dress-down day with a difference...everyone could pay a couple of pounds to wear casual clothing BUT they must wear a bra over the top - even the guys! (Borrow from wives, girlfriends, sisters, go to La Senza (or Primark...!) etc etc). The sponsored skydive is always a good idea as well, especially if you're not the sort of person who'd do that sort of thing normally! Best of luck to you, and I'll be running the Race for Life again this summer - hoping to beat my time!

A lady in this area has raised thousands by having a "Crazy Hats" day.She got the idea while looking for hats to wear after losing her hair through chemo.Everyone donates money to be allowed to wear a crazy hat to work. There is also a sponsored walk in the local park and everyone turns up in a crazy hat.It is really catching on in the same way as red nose day...

Each year our local banks do this to raise money for breast cancer research:

Each person donates a bra (along with $2...Dollar per cup!!) then the bras are all stringed up across the city.

Maybe u can do something similar and have all the bras strung up all over....well where u work/go to school/like to socialize??

=)

my nan passed away due to breast cancer four years ago. I am absolutely terrified of heights, always have been and my nan always tried to help me get over my fear, but i never managed to conquer it before she pssed away. after her funeral, i told everybody i was gonna do a sponsered skydive for the charity. not one person believed i'd do it and i raised £4,500 because people didn't think they'd have to pay up- as it happens, the first time i did chicken out, BUT....... on the first anniversary of her death, I did it again. went around for 9 months beforehand; got basically everybody in my 400strong school, family, friends, friends of friends, friends of family's friends, everybody who i worked with- even put up a poster and sponsor sheet in the restaurant i was working in at the time and got tons of sponsors from customers too. I raised £68, 000 for Cancer Research and at 30,000 feet in the air, conquered my fear of heights by jumping out of a helicopter withonly a parachute to save me. IT WAS IMMENSE!!!! I seriously, SERIOUSLY suggest doing it!

You could have people donate, and maybe coupons for another store. If they buy these coupons, then the money you get from them can go to the Breast Cancer Funding. Are you going to do the walk, and if you are, do you have a team?

is there a TV station close by or radio they might help in the awareness of what you are doing and perhaps going to a church that can help you raise some money. perhaps a flyer in mail boxes and doing door to door.. shopping cenrtres or a tennis club or football club or you can write to your local newspaper. good luck and best of wishes to your mom
