If I want to copy my dvd onto my psp data card - do I need special software or just the usb cord?

I see the "kit" in Target and it doesn't clearly tell me if it's softward or just a cord that's in the kit (I already have the cord). Just curious if I can just copy my movies and music to my computer and then save it to my PSP or if I need special software. Any help is appreicated.

First you need a dvd ripper/decryptor to prepare the video to be converted. You will have to look around for one of those on your own.

Then you need to get a convertor to scale it down to the size optimized for the PSP, you can check out http://www.psponme.com . That app will also help you transfer your video files to the desired folder.
