My older sister is 36 years old. She has never did regular exercise. For some time she swam, walked or did yoga, but thats all. All is not more than 20 or 25 times.

Which exercises can/should she do at 35? She is more conscious now and wants to do exercise regularly.

I think walking is a great excersize. I walk 3 miles a day, and fill up my MP3 player with music and podcasts to make it less boring. You get in the habit and its like I reach a point where I look forward to it and rarely miss a day.

Sit-ups, push-ups, and any active sports. Also, if she wants to lose some extra weight on the tummy, she should walk for an hour everyday. That really helps. For more suggestions, order subscriptions of Seventeen or CosmoGirl magazine. They're really cheap if you subscribe. Only $1 a magazine. Much cheaper than store prices.

I read that in the beginning, if you do small burst of exercise during the day you can jump start your metabolism. Just 3 jumping jacks every hour, or swinging your arms, or marching in place will help. the healthier she feels the more she can do, and once she has more energy, a walking program is a good idea.

Whatever fits her lifestyle and personality. She doesn't have to go to the gym and lift weights or do anything strenuous.

She can join a gym, and have a trainer work with her. They can get her started and keep her accountable.
