A weekend away in a cozy bed and breakfast, rose petals
strewn across the pillows, good champaign, romantic
music, candlelight and a small, beautiful piece of jewelry
with the precious stone that most reminds you of your
spouse...or friend. Also high on the list should be tickets
to see their favorite entertainer as a big surprise.

Do something that would be special for the both of you. My husband and I like to go on weekend getaways for 2-3 days to celebrate our anniversary. Since my husband is a wine enthusiast, for one very romantic anniversary we drove to a nearby winery where we stayed at their bed and breakfast. While we were there we went wine tasting at the nearby wineries and had a scenic tour on a dinner train since I love to look at fall trees. We've also traveled to Chicago where my husband enjoyed touring the museums and I loved the shopping on magnificent mile. We even traveled to Washington DC to view the museums and monuments since my husband is such a history buff and patriot. For our most recent anniversary since my husband loves trains and I like plays, we stayed at a local train station converted into a hotel and shopping district and went to see a play after dinner. The key to a successful anniversary is planning something special that reflects both of your interests. This way, this is something you will both enjoy and always remember.
