Potatoes mashed up.
Some people add butter and milk or sour cream to them after they are mashed, some add salt to taste.
But a Mashed potatoe is just a potatoe mashed up, with out the skins.

Mashed potatoes are made of potatoes that are mashed down, milk and some butter, plus any spices that you'd like.

BASIC MASHED POTATOES
Use this recipe to prepare Cabbage and Bacon Mashed Potatoes, Chili Mashed Potatoes, and Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes.
Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.
2 pounds russet (baking) or red potatoes
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 to 1 cup milk
Peel potatoes and cut into 2-inch pieces. (If using red potatoes, it is not necessary to peel them). In a large heavy saucepan simmer potatoes in salted water to cover by 1 inch 10 minutes, or until tender, and drain in a colander. In pan or bowl combine potatoes, butter, and 3/4 cup milk. With a potato masher mash potatoes until smooth, adding more milk if necessary to make creamy. In pan reheat potatoes over moderately low heat, stirring, and season with salt and pepper.
Serves 4.

Potatoes, milk and butter for basic mashed potatoes. You could also add cheese or sour cream for something different.

Potatoes, butter, hot milk, an egg... Everything mixed and whipped... Mmmmmm... :)
Though, mashed potatoes can also be made of dry flakes that you can buy in a shop as "5 min Food".

I start out with 5 cups of boiled turkey gizzards. Then i put them in the blender, along with 2 tablespoons of fresh goat blood. Blend it thouroughly, and bake it for 15 minutes at 10000 degrees. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with eye of newt, and serve.
Some people just mash up boiled potatoes, and add milk and butter, but I think my way tastes better.

boile some potatoes then mash them using a potato masher. You can add some milk to make it creamier. You can also add some salt and butter. They're pretty easy.
