You say it best. I think he has an undiagnosed case of bipolar coz he seems to stand for the "morals" of the church and yet, he doesn't hesitate to further extend the war in iraq by requesting not only that 245B but also request to send 20,000+ MORE troops to iraq. Can you imagine how many men and women are gonna suffer? Mothers who have just given birth -- have to return to iraq after the confinement period. And watching the extent of suffering of the iraq people and the american troops, and yet some of these troops who have lost their limbs and are in such critical condition... when asked whether or not they want to go back to serve -- they don't hesitate to say "YES". I really can't believe what's happening. I think the Bush admin should use the money to give each and every one of the military troops who have served in iraq: a new house, a new 4WD, an expense-paid trip for them and their family to vacation anywhere in the world 3 times/year for the next 10 years, send their kids to the best universities in the country (all expenses covered), set up a 401K for every military personnel and put in $100,000 in it -- the troops deserve it. THEY DESERVE A BREAK FROM THIS INSANE WAR!!!!!!

President Bush suffers from Myopia????????????
At least you are articulate. Perhaps you have a narrow view of something but the destruction of 2 terrorist states in 6 years is very good. The fact is Iraq paid the families of suicide bombers, they had and used WMD on thier own people and its neighbors, they were harboring Abu Nidal (a wanted terrorist who killed a crippled American citizen) and they tortured thier own citizens. I have seen the chambers.
How much is security worth? I would rather them attack me in Iraq than my son at his elementary school. We were attacked at least 4 times in the 1990s and only once so far this decade. Whatever we are doing is working very well. That is not a waste. Why can people not see the forest from the trees?

I do not know why everyone gets so upset with Bush and what he ask for. Congress authorizes the budget. If congress does not want to give him the money he does not get it. You see the Dems play both sides of the card because most people do not understand how the proses works. The dems will approve this budget or some portion of it and then they will blame Bush for spending the money. If the Dems want to cut the spending now is their chance. So why are they not trying to curb the spending.

He doesn't want to admit defeat. Our troops need there hands untied and we would be out in a month. Republicans say that they are fiscally responsible but everyone one of them from Reagan on up has out spent dems ten fold. So, they'll blame the dems in congress, but if the dems say no then they'll be labeled as not supporting our troops. It a lose lose for the dems becasue the right wing controlled media wont report the truth.

Don't worry. They are only islamic extremist terrorists bent on the destruction of you and I, western civilization and the better part of the world as we know it. The good news is that when the libcrats get back in power, we'll become so weak and sorry in national security, we will cut the funding of our military and bring all the troops home and open the borders. Then we will face a coordinated briefcase nuke attack on 12 major U.S. cities, crippling the country, the world economy and bringing us all, liberals and conservatives, democrats and republicans to our knees. - Then we won't have to worry about budgets and funding these crazy, hopeless wars. We'll all be hog tied, headless or kneeling in the direction of mecca.

Another good question is how much is he asking for Social Security-Medicare-Medicaid? 3T budget and most of it is on the social programs. Look how far we have fallen in 50 years. Our defense spending was almost all of the budget back then.
