Is there a way to take a boat from New York City to Connecticut or anywhere else?

I know all the lines that go from place to place IN the city, but someone told me you can take a boat to New Have, or to Bear Mountain. Does anyone know?

There are a lot of ferry services in the city, but more to NJ than CT. You take Metro-North Railroad to CT.

...I could not find anything on ferries to Bear Mountain, but there is the Ferry-Go-Round service linking locations in Westchester. These NY Waterway ferries travel between Peekskill, Haverstraw, Ossining and Tarrytown:
