Try to find a common interest. Maybe woodworking, gardening, playing scrabble. Or ask your Dad what he would like to do together. Maybe there is a project that he wants to tackle, that he could use your help with.

If you previously had difficulties in relationship, perhaps, something that would enable your dad to pass over some life knowledge to you? Dads like that, you know. What exactly does not really matter, as soon as you both enjoy it. (Fishing, fixing somthing broken, buying a suit, learning to drive...)
