There is a disorder with a long name that involves patches of places that itch only above the waist; what doctor calls the "heralder" occurs first, to "herald" it's coming, that is maybe a 1-2 inch spot that itches, and then the upper torso breaks out. My sister and son had it, ready? Pityriasis rosea. Doctor said it would last 3-4 months. But I read in a pocket medical book that sunlight during the early weeks would stop it, so let my son (4) play outside in February in Georgia, and it went away. Sister said the itching was intense. I've heard that Gold Bond Medicated powder is good for itching. Smells bad, though -

a good skin lotion with shea butter in it always helps with my itchy skin. Plus, take warm showers instead of hot and apply lotion immediately after you shower. Use a soap with moisturizer in it as well.
