I think you have a great idea... As far as looking down the barrel.... In the video I would tell you to say that you are never supposed to look down the barrel, just for the mere fact that this is what a kid or inexperienced gun owner should learn. However, in reality there are going to be times that you will have to. I was reading an article on how to do something and the first instruction it gave was "look down the barrel of your gun"... If an inexperienced person were reading this article would they know not to just pick up the gun and look down the barrel? I doubt it. So, I would recommend saying that it is never a good idea to look down the barrel but if the occasion presents itself that you have to this is what you should know.... Let us know when you get it done.... I want to watch it... You might want to add a statistic of how many die each year cleaning their guns. I had a very close friend and experienced hunter blow his head off cleaning his gun...... and his 5 and 8 year old kids found him....

If you are worried about your children's behavior around weapons, why don't you teach them about weapon safety, instead of making it a forbidden subject ? Children are curious, and want to learn things. Your job is to teach them. The more accurate knowledge they have about a subject, the less likely they are to have "accidents" involving that subject.
