Say it happened today. What would human society look like in ten years, fifty years, a hundred years?

Solar power isn't infinite. By "effectively infinite" I mean one which provides us with more energy than we are able to use.

The technology would get leaked, some dummy dictator would get ahold of it, and we'd blow up our entire solar system. We're not ready for that kind of power yet, because we're still squabbling amongst our selfish human selves. Furthermore, I think the government would just suppress that technology in order to make more money off of oil, which it has big ties to right now. The economic impact alone on a global scale would be terrifying to many people.

It may well already exist. However "human culture" being the way it is.... we'd probably never know. Too many vested interests with too much money at stake.
That's why we have a global warming problem in the first place.
There are always solutions...... the real problem is the ethics and integrity of governments who ultimately agree to be controlled by vested interests.
Human culture will only change when this aspect of our societies is changed. It is the humanities, personal integrity and ethics, not science and technology that need to advance for there to be any improvement in human culture.

Not much different, someone would definitely figure out how to charge for it, then we would be getting "Infinite Energy Source" bills every month.

We already have. It's called solar power. We just need to figure out a more efficient way of harnessing this power.
