Mike, non of it makes sense anymore. We have seen the underlying intentions of our government a little too late. Non of us know the real reasons for what's going on--we can only suspect. GW will soon be out. Other Americans and other countries as well blame us for voting in crooked politicans. I really don't believe that there could have been anyway for us to know that this was going to happen--if you think about it, it's so far fetched that we could have only imagined, and dared not to. We can only pray that soon it will stop, and that our next leaders will mediate and fix what we as citizens have plead, fought, begged, and demanded.

It does not make sense. This is not a war on WMD, or a war on terrorism. This is a war on Bush poverty, politician hunger...

It makes sense for people who are good at fighting to go out and do it-because if they're good at it, that means the fewest number of other people die.

Remember, forever and always: A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it.

--Oscar Wild

We will only find the answers in time: without prejudice, without hatred, without confusion. When this is accomplished, there will be no answers to find.

--Lauren Griffin

I would also like to add:

Just because there are people who ask "Why?" doesn't mean that they are "liberals." The people who ask "Why?" Are the people who are doing something about it, not sitting around letting it happen. Not liberals--seekers of justice--something that the people who pretend to take comfort in today's dilemma don't know the definition of.

By the way, Speakeasy--you may be right

But it is absolutely 0% our responsibility to make those people act civilized. They are NOT our problem, and instead of putting their nose in a corner and taking their snacks away, we need to beat the hell out of the ones who want to be a pain in the ***.

The American Government realized that when they invaded a country for whatever reason you had to finish the job. 911 is the result of not having stayed on long enough to make sure that the new government was strong enough and sane enough to stand alone without international aid and intervention. That is one of the reasons Talibans got power and held on to it with all their particular way of thinking implied. This time USA decided to stay on and make sure of that but there are still guerrilla groups determined to mess up any efforts towards helping their country. If they just leave chances are another 911 could happen at a later date, when it is least expected. It is no consolation that young brave men and women are dying on account of past incursions by their own country.

Thats because a lot of folks would rather talk it to death rather then fight and win it. Since blowing up women and children on purpose on a daily basis is really not our forte, its almost as if folks have forgotton the difference between right and wrong. Libs feel comfortable with the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents just so we arn't the ones doing the killing. They felt that way after Vietnam and I see it makes no difference now. They are definitely consistant.

We are respecting Geneva Convention obligations.

In the process, we are trying to ensure Iraq does not suffer the same fate as Afghanistan did. Failure to remain there and help develop a stable nation led to the takeover by radical Islamists who built a formal terrorist training college. Its 20,000 graduates went out into the world to wreak havoc and still are.

What do you mean? of course it makes sense. If the war ends then Bush is no longer a "wartime president" and all the extraordinary powers he has claimed as being one will disappear. GWB has a vested interest in seeing that this war lasts and lasts and lasts. POWER.

Trying to keep the terrorists from getting control of the oil flow. Then $5.00/gal gasoline will look nice and the western economies will be in turmoil.

Here's one reason - if we leave anytime soon, terrorists will easily control the oil pipelines and have unlimited $$ to fund their B.S.

Does that make sense?
