My brother told me that he has a girlfriend and he is only 7. I don't get it, because I am 14 and I have never had a boyfriend. Do you think he is lying to me???

I did have boyfriends when I was in Kindergarten that came over to my house and we would always play together. Could I count them as my boyfriends???

He's seven. His girlfriend is probably a girl that talks to him on the bus or plays with him at recess. Don't sweat it your only 14 the guys will come around soon enough. Don't rush into things enjoy being young while you can.

He's not lying. A girlfriend/boyfriend to a 7-year-old is a lot different than a girlfriend/boyfriend to a 14-year-old. The 7-year-old is thinking about playing board games and pretend with his/her girlfriend/boyfriend. The 14-year-old has a lot more complex thoughts about what a girlfriend/boyfriend should be.

Don't worry about it, because the relationship he has is not the one you want. They're just kids, for crying out loud! Trust me, I'm 16 and I've never had a boyfriend either, although some girls I know have already slept with theirs! I find that ridiculous!
My point is that he's probably not lying to you and you shouldn't take it seriously. You'll have a boyfriend when you fall in love-it is worth waiting! And it'll be more serious than the crush your brother has!

The idea of boyfriend/girlfriend changes with age. At your age, your idea of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship is far different than his. Yes he can have a girlfriend, but it is not the same way you would classify a boyfriend, and your thoughts about the subject are not the same as a 20 year olds, and the 20 year olds thoughts on the subject are not the same as a 40 year olds. It is all relative. You are not strange, he is not strange, but worrying about it could make it a problem if you worry too much. Don't sweat it and congratulate him.

He probably isn't lying. Why would he? I'm surprised he's even interested in girls at that age, I think that is just adorable and too grown up at the same time. You're 14, big whoop. You'll get one in time honey, boyfriend's are a big responsibility at 14 you may not be able to handle a boyfriend and school. Wait a little longer honey. Good luck!

What would a 7 year old do with a girlfriend? I have three kids all about that age and they tell me that stuff all the time. It just means they like someone or someone likes them its harmless. Can hardly be called a relationship. So don't worry about it.

I think that your little brother is role playing. Kids like to pretend to be older, having a girlfriend, is like playing house or doctor or something. Dont worry about it.

Maybe he really has a girlfriend.
A boy with whom I went to the same class thought also that I was his girlfriend because he always brought me some candies, flowers, wrote love letters and came to my bday party without permission. I did not like him at all and we were both 8 years old...:S

well my brother is 9 and has a new girlfriend every week and I'm 13 and never had a boyfriend.. they are to younge and don't really understand relationships... my brother just has friends that are girls and misuess the term girlfriend... he probably just has friends who are girls

He might be lying about it, but who cares if he is??? Not like he is going to marry the little girl or even be boyfriend/girlfriend next week!!!!!!
