Wilson Combat. Les Baur, Ed Brown for custom or semi custom carrying and combat pistols.

STI, Dawson Precision and Brazos arms for IPSC race guns. I believe that the Brazos pistols are the most expnexive I've ever seen.

Antique? Colts made in the late 1800s

New? Custom 1911s like Les Baer, Kimber, etc.

New production modern pistols, SigArms, H&K, Walther, S&W special models, etc.

Korth (revolvers and semi-autos)
Sig (model 210 series)
Hammerli (olympic-style competition .22s)
Bennelli (same as Hammerli)
Walther (same as Hammerli)
Manchurin (revolvers)
Ed Brown (1911)
Wilson Combat (1911)
Les Baer (1911)

The above guns have prices that easily breach the $2,000 mark and some go up to $7,000 (Korth auto, price circa 2004). Obviously, some companies listed also make rifles and shotguns too.

Depending on the model, H&K, SIG, Glock, Magnum Research, and Kimber are higher end. For more of a "Custom" gun Ed Brown, and Wilson Combat are top notch, but you pay for it.

Depends on what you mean by expensive. Is your life worth protecting with a $2500 1911 or not.

Or a gun that isn't worth a plug nickle, such as a Jennings.
