Instead I have been left with scarring. I was considering covering it up with something like a rose, but am concerened because I am in the process of becoming a teacher. How do you feel about teachers with visible tattoos. And how has your experience in the matter been like.

i think in this days society it is very acceptable to have tattoos as a teacher. of course not all tattoos would be accepted but a rose on the ankle would not seem to cause a problem. good luck!

I think it's probably more acceptable these days, so long as the tattoo is tasteful, but there are still lots of curmudgeonly administrators who would frown upon it a lot. During an interview, I would wear something to cover it up (not too obvious-- like perhaps tights instead of panyhose, etc.) but I don't think it would get you fired once you were hired.

I really don't care if teachers or anyone has a tattoo. As long as its in good taste for the job they/you do it shouldn't matter. There are things you could wear to cover it up, but I would check around with men and women who are teaching in your area and ask what they know about tattoos and their profession.
