YOU'RE FULL OF IT. THE AMERICAN MILITARY IS THE BEST EQUIPT MILITARY IN THE WORLD. LIKE YOU HAVE CONTACTS TO KNOW WHAT THE SOVIET PEOPLE THINK. POST A LINK AND ENLIGHTEN US ALL. TILL THEN YOU'RE FULL OF IT. THATS A LAUGH WHEN YOU ASKED THEM , I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE INTERVIEWING SOVIETS AND KOREANS AND PEOPLE OF COLD CLIMATES ABOUT MILITARY UNIFORMS. YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE SLOPES. SKI A LITTLE.

US Military clothing is the best and most costly in the world. Just ask any poor E3 who has to buy new uniforms. Add to the cost are all the dumb patches which must be sewn on and do-dad that must be stuck on. Everything you change bases or even units on the same base, you have to redo the dumb patches and some of the do-dads. The USAF is the worst. Their "Plain blue uniform" concept is a Joke. Even their duty uniforms have a ton of crap on them. There is no need to torture our troops to get information from them, all the enemy has to do is look at the patches and do-dads then look them up in a book and they will know all about you. They should leave all that crap for the dress uniform and do like the Navy, stencil the stuff on the uniform with India ink then forget about it.

Not really seen much U.S military clothing, but if it's as thin as i'm remembering, then maybe. But it tends not to matter at the moment- conflict is focused on arid, desert countries at the moment, where the thin jackets are a blessing
- cold countries dont seem to be as 'hot blooded' (that was awful, i know) as much as the others -for some reason i reckon they don't fight as much, at least not with America.
Before anyone points at Russia- i know, but there was no actual U.S conflict there, and the only place where warmer clothing is a practical necessity for the U.S is in Alaska.

I happen to like my Gortex field jacket, especially when layered with my fleece liner, BDU Blouse, and poly pro undershirt. My poly-whool-leather blend work gloves are sufficient hand warmers by themselves. I plus up with a scarf and switch from a ball cap to a wool cap.
WITHOUT having my fleece lined pants and gortex pants OR cold weather combat boots on (standard pants and jungle boots with winter weight socks), I feel rather comfortable standing outside, even for the month where the temperature dropped down to an average of -35 (-50 with windchill) at my base.

Well, The 6th light infantry in Alaska wears parkas, and lots of cold weather gear, so your statement is not very accurate. The rest of the Army is also issued cold weather gear, maybe not Parkas & russian rabbit fur hats..
but enough to keep them alive, being a soldier aint all about being comfy & snug..I got out in 1990 and I am not sure what they are issued now..

Current issue clothing is quite good. Quite a step above what was issued prior to the mid 1980s.

ask the soviets if they have any power left, tell them the American people feels sorry for them, because they are out of commissioned and their people are the one NOW shivering to death because they are so poor.
and for the rest of the world, since they notice so much of our clothes, ask them if they noticed the 10,000 ton bomb that we have aimed at them?
