I would think that you might reconsider this.

Why don't you just ship them freight or Greyhound?

Order Sun-Drop Now!

You can check them, but from personal experience I wouldn't recommend it (if they're in cans). You definitely can't carry them on as they won't let you bring it past security at the airport. But if they're in cans, then it's a possibility (and actually pretty likely) that the cans will explode. I don't think that they will get so cold in the cargo hold that they will freeze and explode (although it's possible), but they will definitely get knocked around in your luggage enough that they could get punctured enough to explode. Soda cans are notoriously prone to puncturing and exploding - I even had it happen once in a carry-on bag. I've had this happen once before. However, I've brought plastic bottles of soda in my checked luggage on numerous occasion (dozens of times) and never had a problem. Same goes for other bottles (i.e., bottles of shampoo and such).

Also it doesn't matter what airline you're flying, it's the federal government that makes up the security regulations, not the individual airlines. Actually, the airlines probably don't like this particular regulation, understandably, because it means more people are checking luggage (and more work for them)

Most sodas do have caffeine- but many soda companies also provide "free" sodas with no caffeine...Also, sodas such as pink lemondaes, fruit flavored (anything from Strawberry to orange, pineapple, etc) as well as lemon-lime flavored sodas (sierra mist, sprite, 7-up) do not have caffeine. Some brands of root bear also do not have caffeine. Hope this helps!

The storage part of the aircraft is not pressurized and gets extremely cold - so it is more then likely that the soda will explode in your luggage ruining all of your other stuff.

You legally could, but it is ill advised. The cargo hold of airplanes get very cold, and could cause all of your cans to explode (like if you put them in the freezer for too long).

You definately can't carry them on.

You can check it, only problem is, the pressure up in an airplane would cause the cans/bottles to burst, getting your entire suitcase wet. It would be better to send them through the mail.

Have you heard of the new security rules yet?
