If you have earned income, you should file a return. If this is self employment income, you need to file to pay social security and medicare tax on it. If it is W-2 income, you will more than likely end up with a refund.

Oh course and it's to your benefit to do so because of EIC or earned income credit. Meaning you may get a refund!
Turbo Tax has a low income free on-line tax service called Tax Freedom.
They let you use their software on-line for free. Some states will link to it also for state returns.

Yes, if you paid federal income tax, all of your tax payment will be refunded. That's a good reason to file.

if it was paid in cash without taxes withheld then i wouldnt

if you paid taxes and earned this much after taxes then file to get your refund
