hi, hon...it will hurt some...yeah. But about the same as if you had it through your earlobe. the nerves are all the same there, so you will feel a tight pinch, but not to worry, cartialafe of the ear is softer then you think, its not bone or thick flesh to be peirced. Its fast and easy to take. Trust me :)

it does hurt a lil more, i have 2 on my left ear at the top, one i did myself and the other by a professional, mine got infected because the oil from my hair infected it, if u get it done, keep your hair off of your ear as much as possible and keep it very clean with the ear stuff thyey give you or peroxide, i used peroxide and it healed, but if u jut have to wear your hair down try and clean it about 2-3 times a day, also i got my belly button pierced and that hurt more than a ear piercing. ur cartilage is nothin compared to the belly button, it hurt for a second and then it was all over with, piercing are cute when it is not taken overboard good luck

EDIT: happy is wrong, like she said hers wasnt meant to be, when i got mine done with a gun by a professional it was fine, but it was when i did it by myself and shoved the earring through, is when it got infected, but that was in 8th grade, im a senior now and mine is fine, get it done you will like

No. I have six piercings in each ear and the pain was the same for all of them. I never had any problems with the top piercings, all was done by a gun and the healed without any problems. Just every now and then I would catch the comb in it.

I didn't think mine hurt any more than a lobe piercing. Infact my third hole actually seemed to be more painful. I'd put the actual piecing as a 4, it's not that bad at all and it's really quick. The healing can be a bit of a ***** to do, that's where it can really hurt. But so long as you're careful about not knocking/brushing it it'll be fine.

I doesn't hurt any more than the bottom does. But i had mine done two years ago, and i had to get it out because the area was not healthy, and the skin would not heal. My cartilage would not heal because i got it done in a place where they used a gun. Guns cannot be sterilized, and they tear the flesh. Make sure the place doesn't use them! Have fun. They look good, mine just wasn't meant to be!

Heyaa, I had mine done just b4 christmas, along with my seconds. It wz rlli cold that day but i had it dun anyway. Me sister said it would hurt cos my ear was cold, but it didnt. First i had the top pierced to get it out of the way, they used a gun. It didnt rlli hurt, it was less than a 1 second surge, i thought my eyes would be watering but i didnt even gasp. To be honest, i think the pain in my seconds *they were at the bottem of da lobe* stung more than the top, because she one side after another and i cud feel ma ear sorta burning. My ear was a lil red after that, but it looks fab !! You dont want to sleep on it, but if you have to, just cup your hands around your ear 4 support. Try not to get ur hair tangled in it, nd dont touch it. 2 b honest i dont clean it all th time, onli wen i need 2
If ya rlli want it done just go ahead and do it, especailly if your a bit of a adrenaline junkie lk me lmao. Irs worf it

Yes. It scars more too. I had it done about ten years ago and I took it out with in one year. I remember it hurt when i would have anything touch it for a couple of weeks. The lobe is fleshier while the top is very cartilaginous. I think that's why it hurts more. Oh and like I said. I still have a gross black dot of a scar (ten years later).

It only hurts slightly worse. Cartilage piercings take longer to heal, though.
