look around you.... Everyday there is something happening. if you read your bible, you will see all the prophecy being fullfilled. alot of people feel the need to "See To Believe" This world is turning more wicked everyday. Do NOT let the devil convince you of a lie.... he is the king of Liers.... And where ever he can cast doubt he will.... But you have to be willing to let him.... Get out your bible and begin to read the book of revelation..... I do not know how you may or may not believe. But let me assure you, God is Real.... And he loves you.... And in just a matter of time, you will know he is real.... let me share this with you.... if you go through life and believe and serve god when you close your eyes in death you will see him in all his Glory.... Now if you chose not to believe and serve him you will open your eyes in hell. And there are No Unbelievers in Hell.... Can you imagine burning worse then ever believed possible intensified by millions, that is how it is in hell, and you will be able to see into heaven as a reminder of the opportunities you had to serve him freely...... Salvation is free to us, but it cost the Son of God.... remember that...... he died on a cross for our sins... AND THE MOVIE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, AS SAD AS IT WAS.... WASNT EVEN HALF OF WHAT JESUS SUFFERED FOR US..... NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU BELIEVE OR NOT BELIEVE. THAT IS YOUR CHOICE.... CHOSE WISELY

Big topic. No easy-fix answers.
I used to be a Christian and I'm now an atheist.
But I could be wrong too, so I'm not simply saying "Trust me."
There are those who have a belief in God which does not rely on the bible being literally true, or true at all, so to lose trust in the bible is not *necessarily* to lose faith in *a* god.
Apart from the Bible as a source of awareness of God, some consider Nature, the behaviour and teachings of those who claim to have encountered God, and internal spiritual, emotional or instinctive experiences.
For some, study of history and science is important, for others it has little relevance.
Sorry, you've got some work ahead of you to decide, with enough confidence to act on, what the real nature of the world is.
If I could recommend one book it would be quite old and available cheaply second-hand at ABE:
Colin Chapman : The Case for Christianity.
As far as I can tell, it quite fairly portrays nearly all the possibilities. From atheism to Christianity via pantheism and Buddhism.

I hope you don't lose faith. The great flood covered the world as those people knew it in those days, What about Katrina? If you lived in that area that would be your world. That flood was sent by God and as creator He can do anything, include part the Red Sea. People in Biblical times didn't have the written word of God, we do. I would like to give you a website, www.ttb.org it is a wonderful Bible teacher, on the radio or online that has helped me a great deal in understanding God. God Bless and I hope you don't lose faith, we need to stand firm in our faith today.

Because there is archaeological evidence that points to the possibility that most if not all of it is true. I know that they have found the walls of Jericho that seemed to have fallen beneath themselves and spare a couple of houses that were promised to have been spared, and there are signs that a large part of the earth was flooded at one time (it may not have been the entire earth, but to the writers, they didn't know there was more to be discovered). Study some apologetics, and decide based on the evidence. As for me, everything that I have studied has pointed to the validity of the Bible. (I do know that I have a biased opinion, but arguments that I have heard against the Bible have always been unfounded or illogical.) As sources, I have listed a few of the best Christian Apologists.

You're right. You have two choices -- start considering the potential symbology, or abandon the book.
For example, PRESUME that God created the big bang and guided everything via controlling quantum randomness. He decides to make the Semites his people and long story short, gets Moses up the mountain. Understand that the Semites were originists -- they were a culture that at all times demanded to know origins... you would never introduce yourself just as your name, but your parents and even your grandparents and your home town. God never told the Semitic people how he created, so Moses looks up and says, "Well dude, where'd the world come from?"
God has a choice -- drop millions of terrabytes of information into Moses's brain, and the people never possibly beginning to grasp the slightest bit of it (hey, here you are in 2007 and how much do YOU really understand of quantum physics?), OR, wrap the truth in a story.
So God says, "You know Moses, look around. I created the light out of the darkness, I created life from lifelessness, I made all the different types of life, and when all was ready, because I loved you so much, I made you. I created, Moses, what need you of the details?" It is the truth, but simplified for a pre-scientific culture.

Hi, How long have you believed in the bible? Man, all i can say is that God is awesome! I found Jesus a few years ago. I never believed, nor even heard about their being a God. When i was 18, i met a christian guy, and he told me a little about God-not much- and i didn`t really care much about all of that-I actually was embarrassed and thought it was weird! 19 years old, I had a VISION while i was sleeping, it was so real and it scared me half to death, i had no idea what it meant-but, i called that guy and he told me it sounded liek a vision of the rapture of the church--iin my dream i had a decision to make--from there i RAN Fast!
I started partying, drinking, drugs the whole shabang. 20 years old--i hit rock bottom! And although i never prayed before-I went down by a lake and kneeled--and said "God, if you are real, let me know-I can`t do this anymore" And i didn`t say anything else.
The next day- a nether guy came into my life--that gave me abible to read and a couple months later i begged him to take me to a church--he didn`t go--but, he knew the way. He took me to a Pentecostal church..It was wild. But,something inside of me knew it was real!
Since then, I cannot tell you How awesome Jesus IS!!How real He is! Man He is always there. I go to a United Pentecostal Church. It is awesome! You can feel the presence of God! It is filled with young people! And my pastor is awesome! I lov eit!!!
God delieverde me from drugs, drinking, and He is so awesome, I read the bible all the time, prayed, and prayed, He always answers me. I mess up and i go to Him and He forgives me, and shows me how real He is! Keep reading your bible, you won`t regret it. Its a valley, it says in the bible to be diligent in season and out of season. Sometimes i feel like not going to church, not being a christian anymore. But, it passes. I think the enemy just keeps fighting and he always will until Jesus comes and gets us out of here. Man, God is awesome. And i know He loves you! Keep reading your bible!!God Bless my brother today! In Jesus Name!

Hey welcome to the the life of tough faith and yours is being tested right now, just like millions of us at times get our faith really tested.
God is not confined only in a book,He is not limited by our weakness,God is unchangeable even though we change,so the problem lies with taking in far too much of worldy wisdom which is foolishness to God,taking just a sip of this modernistic poision can start off the doubt that leads to disillusionment and finally death of faith and the soul.

If you are uncomfortable with your faith and your concept of God, perhaps it would be a good idea to explore other spitual paths. Check out Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism, among other faiths. If you are in the US, you may wish to explore Native American spirituality, such as the Navaho or Lakota traditions. Let your heart lead you.
Peace to you.

"Faith seeks understanding": it is intrinsic to faith that a believer desires to know better the One in whom he has put his faith, and to understand better what He has revealed; a more penetrating knowledge will in turn call forth a greater faith, increasingly set afire by love. The grace of faith opens "the eyes of your hearts" to a lively understanding of the contents of Revelation: that is, of the totality of God's plan and the mysteries of faith, of their connection with each other and with Christ, the center of the revealed mystery. "The same Holy Spirit constantly perfects faith by his gifts, so that Revelation may be more and more profoundly understood." In the words of St. Augustine, "I believe, in order to understand; and I understand, the better to believe."
Try exploring the Bible from many different places; but don't stop looking what ever you do.
