my hair is not really long... not really short...its about the middle of my chest/upper back. i have brown hair. i always grow it long and then chop it all off ..i. want to get it styled. but how do i know if the style will look good on me or not? are there any websites that i can upload a picture of myself and try different hairstyles--for free?

BTW.... i am an american living in Africa, and im not THAT great with the language so i cant just go up to a hairstylist and say "i want such-and-such done" because im not sure if he/she will know what im saying so that isnt the greatest idea.
plus, i feel like if i get my hair cut differently than normal people will judge me.. because i am somewhat conservative and if i come to school looking like who knows what im going to be judged and i dont want that to happen...

yes, go to ivillage. com and sign up to be a member (its free.) Then go to the "Beauty and Fashion" section, after you click on that click on "Makeovers." Then you can choose "virtual Hairstylist" where you can download a pic of you and try out different hair styles and different hair colors as well. You can also try the "Makeover-Matic" which allows you do to hair, makeup, etc. Here is the link to get to the virtual hair stylist, however you'll have to sign up before being able to upload pics of you and use it. you can also save what you try out!!!

Besides that, next time you go to the hairdresser request a consultation (its free) first so that they can give you ideas of what would be flattering for your hairtype, color, face shape, etc. They'll give you some different ideas and show you examples of pics and will ask you what you like best and least about your hair, etc. Also if you find some pics of hairstyles you love, bring them in and ask if they think those would work for you.

You could get that program where you can download different hairstyles to your photo. Also, you can ask your hair dresser for ideas. They've seen a bunch of people in their time and will most likely know what looks good on what kind of faces. It's a bonus if she's done your hair a while, then she knows your texture, likes and dislikes, etc.

Go to www.hairfinder.com you can check out some haircuts on different shaped faces or you can join and put your own picture on there website and check out haircuts. That is what I did and I am glad I did because I had hair down to my butt and had 10 inches cut off over a year ago and i donated my hair to locks of love. I will never let my hair get long again because the haircut I have now makes me look younger.

Ask your hairdresser - the shape of your face has a lot to do with what styles will look good on you. I'm lucky to have a hairdresser that I trust, I've gone in with a picture of a style that I like, and she'll tell me if it'd work for me and why, or why not.

depends on the shape of your head if your head is the oval type u can pull of any hairstyle with the acception of your size of 4head... if you have more of a apple head stick to long hair another way u could tell is pulling bangs to the side of your face and pull the remainings of your hair up if you can pull off a ponytail then u got it all under control...trust me i am a hairstylist

see what u need to do is right get highlight first and see if they look good n u if the do the go for the ummm layer cut in=f the highlights and the layers cut go for the all die red cause thats how my hair is an everybodys say it s cute
