I'm looking to get a new puppy and I live in California. All of the websites I have been looking at are in different states or the price is too high. I'm looking for a puppy that my other dog (also a chihuahua, but she's a runt, so she's rather small) can teach things to. I need the puppy to still be quite small when it is full-grown. I'm also looking for a puppy that I can get for $500 or less. I know I'm asking a lot, but if you know of any websites or even people, I'd be so happy. Thank you!

No one will give you a "newborn" puppy; you'll have to wait until it's at least 8 weeks old, has at least one puppy vaccination, and is fully weaned.

Try any of these sites to find a dog close to you. You can search by breed, size, and your city name or zip code.

By law you can't buy a puppy under 8 weeks old and responsible toy dog breeders usually won't sell their puppies until they are 12, 14 weeks to make sure they are past the delicate stage. Instead of trying for a cheap ( good luck there sister) puppy why not check the local shelters? Tons of little dog in need of good homes. Do you really think you dog wants to raise someone Else's puppy? Not likely. Most likely she will detest the little thing until she realizes it isn't leaving.
Try petfinder.org maybe contact a rescue in your area. Never know what you might find.

If you are buying a dog from the computer, do not buy one with out looking at them first
Good luck

I found my Chihuahua out of the Newspaper. However be careful if getting an amimal through the paper, he came with worms which isn't a surprise but also with a parasite, which my other 2 dogs got from him. What a mess getting them all cleared. I love him though... I've gotten other dogs from newspaper Ad's with no problem. Getting them out of the paper, also allows you to see them and the conditions they are being raised it and to see the Mom & Dad.

You can also try www.anypets.com. All of their puppies come with a lifetime guarantee and they are from all over the country. I bought my golden puppy from there and I couldn't be happier!
