My opinion about this at first time stupid-looking and trivial question, more interesting that you may think, though, is that, when you use a spoon, the food goes directly to the deeper part of your mouth, where we have the tate-buds which detect sour kind of flavours, whereas if we use a fork the food goes first to the top of the tongue, where we have sweet flavour kind of taste-buds.
I am really sorry for the people who did not take this question seriously.

There is no difference in taste with either utensil.
When food leaves the fork or spoon, it comes in contact with all areas of the tongue, thus providing for ample opportunity for taste distinguishment
It doesn't.
I remember standing in line in a pizza place waiting for my order and this particular restaurant cut their pizzas in squares.
There was a lady in line that asked the pizza cook if she could have her pizza cut in pie shape because she didn't like the way the squares tasted.
after she left we all had a little chuckle because it doesn't taste different at all.
the same with what type of utensil you use...

Maybe you're tasting the fork or spoon along with the food. A spoon is probably going to touch more tastebuds than a fork.

I really don't think it does make a difference, you eat soup ,cereal, ice cream, many many things with a spoon ,when you eat things with the fork is because it's easier to eat it with a fork,it be pretty hard to cereal with a fork, yep ,your utensil are for certain foods that's all yep

it does not Really taste different like That, is just that fork make it faster and enjoyable because it take small quantity and it does not give you stress to take and to eat, but all the same it is the same tast whether hand, spoon, fork or the plate to your mouth direct.

The spoon is ovalish so the heat will "slide" up which causes the food to have a certain reaction. The fork is used to "stab" the food so the heat will escape, unlike how the spoon kinda traps heat.

Cause the food doesn't get to touch all areas of your tongue. There are different areas of the tongue that taste different 'tastes' of food, i.e., sour, sweet, bitter, etc...
