Hair care is an industry in itself but this does not mean, not at least, that all its products are safe and good for your hair. Actually, there are so many hair care products that cause damage to one's health that one inevitably starts to wonder if “care” is the right word. But it is not only chemical products that damage your hair. It is also basic hygienic and lifestyle habits that need to be changed, if you want your hair to be healthy and to prevent hair loss to the extend this is possible.

Although hereditary factors and diseases are two main hair loss factors that can't be neutralized by proper hair care, in many other cases of hair loss, proper hair care can produce good results. Proper hair care starts with plain activities like combing your hair at least once a day and washing it (preferably) only once a week. It is unbelievable how many people neglect those simple rules!

The purpose of combing your hair is not only to give your head a pleasant look. Rather, combing is a way to massage the roots of your hair, to increase the blood circulation and to make your hair stronger. In this aspect it is very important to choose the right comb. If you have thick hair, choose a comb that neither breaks in the thickness of your hair, nor entangles in it and pulls it out. There are laser combs on the market that are especially for people who suffer from hair loss, although even conventional combs are pretty good to do the job. Using a brush instead of a comb is not recommendable because a brush only scratches the surface of your hair and does not reach the roots but generally tends to pull out more hair than a comb. The important things about combing are that you should remember to perform it at least once a day and to use a comb or a brush that massages your head rather than pulls your hair out.

Another habit that might need adjustment is how frequently you wash your hair. If you have greasy skin and hair you might need to wash your hair as frequently as every other day in order to maintain it good-looking. But this is so bad that you can't imagine! Washing your hair frequently exhausts it and as a result you lose more hair. One of the best solutions is to get a special shampoo or herbal formula for greasy hair and apply it when you wash your hair. Generally washing your hair more often than once a week is bad, so sometimes you'd better put up with some greasy look and wait a day or two till the next time you wash it.

Long hair is another thing you'd better forget about, if you are predisposed to hair loss. Keeping the hair long also exhausts it and even if you can't resist the temptation to grow your hair long, it is recommendable that you cut it regularly or even better - cut it short for a while and leave it for a year or two till it grows again.

Hair cosmetics are another major cause of hair loss. The group of hair cosmetics includes many products like shampoos, conditioners, balsams, oils, dyes - i.e. products that come in contact with your hair. Some of these products stay on your head for a long time before you wash them, thus giving them the chance to erode your hair, especially when you use them constantly over time. Dyes are probably the most damaging hair cosmetics, though research has been advancing rapidly to produce less harmful chemical formulas.

The good news is that there are really good hair cosmetics for hair loss and the best is that they are actually working. There are shampoos, which prevent hair loss in the early stages, there is cosmetics for stimulating hair regrowth, there are many shampoos that although not increasing directly the numbers of hairs of your head, make it look thicker, giving the impression that you actually have more hair than you actually do. Many of these products can be obtained without a prescription in any drugstore, beauty shop or at the local supermarket but if your hair loss condition is pretty serious, you'd better consult a dermatologist about which of the hundreds of available hair loss cosmetics is best for you.

Some choose to shave their hair off entirely, while still others may have an illness (such as a form of cancer--note that not every form of cancer or cancer treatment necessarily means one will lose their hair. A qualified physician should be able to advise on this point.) that caused hair loss or lead to a decision to shave the head. In this instance care of the scalp skin must be attended to and may include protection when exposing the skin to the sun (such as wearing a soft hat or scarf, and applying sunscreen), and proper maintenance of a shaved head with moisturizing products and better quality shaving tools.

Those who suffer from hair loss in instances of cancer care will need to consult with their medical provider to examine the idea of a purchase of a wig. There are many outlets now that provide options of human hair and synthetic hair wigs. Synethetic wigs tend to be easier to maintain for a longer duration. Often, though, the hair, in time, will grow back so soft hats and scarves are often preferred for delicate skin that has been through so much. Those who note excessive shedding inexplicably, or especially falling out in clumps, should seek the counsel of a physician to rule out any issues with hormones and thyroid, among other possibilities. Hair thinnning can be experienced even in instances of exzema, psoriasis, and when dandruff has advanced and may be coupled with a bacterial infection of the hair follicles.

There are various reasons for hair loss, most commonly hormonal issues. Fluctuations in hormones will often show in the hair. Not all hair loss is related to what is known as male pattern baldness, and indeed, women can suffer from baldness just as men do. This includes women experiencing what's referred to as male pattern baldness. There exist on the markets formulas for addressing this specific cause of lack of hair growth yet typically they require around three months of consistence use for results to begin to appear. Cessation may also mean that gained growth may dissipate.

Hi there. I have been a professional hair stylist for a while now and unfortunately I have seen yor poor husbands case a few times. There are only a few reasons why you lose hair; The most common being male pattern baldness which is hereditary. Stress to the scalp, medication and trauma all help to promote hair loss.

I am not going to try to sell you anything, and I will be brutally hones, I havent read any of the other answers yet, there werent any when i started typeing.) but unfortunately wth hereditary hair loss there is very little you can do.

However, there are products out there that are esigned for this and do have some effectiveness. Kerastase do a range called 'Bain prevention'. Please please please look up on this, it helps to prevent hair loss in males or females by stimulating the scalp. It costs about £11 but for blokes it lasts forever because you only need to massage in a contrated amount.

They also do a treatment which lasts for years too, however it is pricy, about £90. You apply it everyday. Many of these products work best when they are massaged into th scalp. Massage stimulates the blood supply to the scalp promoting the transfer ofoxygen to the follicle which helps produce hair.

Massage is the only way these products will work. You don't even have to buy them aslong as you massage the scap maybe once a day for 5 minutes to get the blood flowing.

I hope this helps. Please do try to invest in the shampoo though, I have had poitive feedback from it. It is available from salons only although I think they sell it on the loreal kerastase website.

Sorry about blabbering on! Its my topic!
xxxxxx

I am 37 and married, no children, with hair to my waist. I am ready to hold my hair lengthy truly in view that i've the overtime it takes to care for it. Females with youngsters and a heavy work load might no longer have the time or power to spend doing their hair daily so it won't seem like a rat's nest. There may be also a little bit stigma that goes along with having long hair. Routinely other men and females generally tend to see a woman with lengthy hair as more sexual. Some do not need to project this snapshot, particularly at work. I've also had folks come up and touch my hair, within the grocery retailer and such. That kinda freaks me out and makes me need to reduce it!

Hair loss is actually hair thinning at first, the reason is primarily due to low blood circulation. One trick is to massage the top of the head to help increase blood flow, another to do head stands for a few minutes every day. best way to do these is to interlock fingers and with forearms at 90 degrees to each other place head between elbows and enter head stand position (against a wall for support). Regaine can slow the proccess too but nature will have its way and your husband will go bald - I have and best thing to do is cut hair really short and get on with life - I can honestly say that i'm not bothered at all anymore, no trips to the barbers and queueing, no shampoo, no hair drying, no hassle. Bald is fashionable!!

O that sucks but sorry to break it to you - its genetic. Theres really nothing much you can do about it. Ive seem people as young as 19 start to lose their hair.
You may wanna try rogaine foam for men. Its supposed to help a little.
Also, there are surgeries out there where they replace hair from other parts of your head to the parts that need it.

Shave it all off it looks cool if his head aint all messed up, its better than trying to do comb overs and crap like that. Tell him to lift some weights and shave it bald slick like jordan or Andre Agasi the tennis player. Some people look cool with a shaved head especially if their a little buff. Or get a baseball cap cause there is nothing you can do. Hey lots of chicks dig my razor slick head.
