That isn't the only implication in the bible that simply believing will make the belief true.

It's the way it works. That’s why fairies, unicorns and gods lose their powers and existence if people stop believing.

The implication,was rather, that it is impossible to please or recieve blessings from God, without faith.

Faith, is a prerequisite, in moving the hand of God, and is responsible for many supernatural occurances, including but not limited to:miraculous healings of both mind and body, as well as spiritual matters.

Though there exists the phenomenon,"placebo-effect", it is not the protocol here.

No. He raised the little girl from the dead, healed leprosy, healed men blind from birth (my understanding is that no one before that had healed a blind person). Faith wasn't always from the one healed, such as the centurion who went to Jesus on behalf of his servant.
