I have a JR. She seemed fine this morning like taking her outside. In the afternoon she started throwing up. A few more throw ups of like a saliva slimy type stuff. Now she's all docile and drewling. There's a puddle of spit on the floor with drewl hanging from her mouth. She seems so dead. Somethings wrong with her. What's wrong with her. I really can't afford a vet right now. Does anyone know what might be wrong with her. If worse comes to worse I will take her to a vet eventhough I don't have cash for it now, but what might be wrong with her?

It sounds as though she has eaten something that has made her sick. Call your vet, ASAP, before it gets worse and then the bill goes even higher.

PS its drooling.

You need to get your dog to a vet NOW.

Excessive drooling is called "hypersalivation" and can be caused by:

Stomatitis (inflammatory disease of the oral mucus membranes)
Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums)
Dental disease
Injury to the oral cavity or tongue
Contact with caustic agents (chemical or insect stings)
Mouth and tongue erosions and ulcers
Oral or esophageal foreign bodies or tumors
Neurologic impairment of chewing or swallowing
Nausea
Certain metabolic conditions
Rabies

What To Watch For

Any abnormal swellings or masses of the lips or in the mouth
A foul odor from the mouth
Inability to swallow, eat or drink
Drooling lasting more than several hours
Lethargy
Weakness
Excessive vomiting
Problems breathing

Get your dog to a vet! If you go in on an emergency basis, the vet may allow you to pay the bill in increments instead of all at once, and may be able to help you find assisting funding sources if you are low-income.

It is very possible that she got hit or bumped in the head
Our family JR did the exact same thing as you are describing, it turned out or bulldog bopped her good on the head.
We put some ice on her head and just kept her near by all night.
Hopefully it is something simple as this!

If you can't afford a vet you can bring her into a no kill animal shelter...you will have to give her up but she will get treated!

You need to stop writing on here and take her to the VET! you shouldnt have a dog if you can afford it. but more then likely she may have gotten into some poison and depending on where you live she could have eaten some sort of poisones animal or been bitten by a spider. My guess is prob antifreeze since it is winter time and alot of curious dogs get into that stuff because of the sweet taste and more people are using it now a days because of winter time. If you dont take her to the vet now she could die..Antifreeze is VERY POISONOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know did your dog eat something it shouldn't have? Go and have a look around. If it was in the backyard maybe somehow it got poisoned! Look for something it might eat like anti freeze or something of that nature! Sounds like poisoning to me. Or maybe an organ failure of some sort. I would seriously consider a vet visit though. That could be the symptoms so many things!!

Does she have all of her vaccinations. If not there are many things that could be wrong such as Parvo, which usually starts as vomiting and develops into severe diarrhea. But really it could be anything from eating something that didn't agree with him/her to a fatal-if-left-untreated intestinal blockage. You need to take her to the vet ASAP. Small dogs can compensate for a while but then when the decompensate they die very quickly.

I hate to state the obvious but if you can't afford to take the dog to the vet then you need to be a good owner and give her away to someone who can afford her. Pets cost money to keep healthy. If you can't afford it then PLEASE find a way to get the dog the treatment he/she needs. She/he could be in pain and your lack of funds isn't helping your dog. Maybe your vet could set up a payment plan for you.

Again, I hate to sound harsh but I also hate to see an animal suffer when there is help nearby.

Good luck and I hope your dog is better real soon! :)

I'd beg, borrow, and steal money to take my dog to the vet if something like this happened! Think about your dog's health and wellbeing rather than the vet bill for Christ's sake and take the poor thing to the vet!! I'm sure you could borrow money from friends or family!!

If your dog is vomiting and being very lethargic, this could possibly be parvo, which would need to be properly diagnosed and treated by a vet. I would really suggest spending the money on a vet call to be safe.

Call your (any) vet, before taking her, so they will be ready for her when you get there. She sounds like she got ahold of a toad. You are taking a big chance with her life if you do not take her to the vet, immediately. Ask for payments, or use a credit card...GO!!!

At least CALL the vet, that won't cost you anything. The longer you wait the sicker your dog will get. This is part of being a responsible pet owner, if it was your child would you sit there and watch while it's getting sicker?
