I was an atheist for 31 years, and in a moment of extreme despair, I called out to Him. I was immediately rewarded with the exact feeling you have described. I became a believer at that moment.

Yes. It's what keeps us going back to prayer I think. The over whelming feeling of love isn't always there but the closeness and warmth, the peace, is what encourages me to keep moving forward.

Hi, yes very true indeed.
This childrens song expresses it brilliantly.
When I`m feeling lonely and down
and when instead of smiling,I frown,
I go somewhere so I can be alone,
I talk to God when I`m own my own;
I feel His presence, when I`m lonely,He is there.
With all the seasons passing by,
The warm Sun shinning in the sky,
The Birds and scent of Flowers in the air,
The loveliness of nature everywhere,
I feel His presence,all around me,He is there.
Even in the deepest darkest night,
I know He`s there to guide me with His light,
He`s living in my neighbor and my friend,
I know His love for me will never end;
I feel His presence,in all other`s,He is there.

My friend has reported this feeling, but only when she is NOT praying. Possibly she is concentrating too hard on the act of praying to feel it. It's amazing what the human mind is capable of, and what we can convince ourselves of if we truly want to.

Have you considered starting a Jacket Label called For Christians Only? It could be like the members only jackets....except with vials of holy water in the pockets.

I've felt this walking in the woods, its where I feel closest to Him.
Thebest b: Jesus told us to pray to God, not to Him.

Yes. I fell it every time I enter a church and every time I pray. These things make me feel closer to God, so I feel Him closer to me.
