Yes, and it was well earned. Not all people who die are blessed to have a great life to talk about. If you were abused by a parent or their actions or morality caused you or a family member great pain, why wouldn't a person get up at the funeral and tell it like it was. I hope at my final day that people will be honest and talk about ME. Who I was not who they want people to think I was, in reality most of the people at the funeral, already new the harsh reality of that dead person and might not have been as shocked to hear it as you think. Best advice live your life and treat people with kindness and due respect and your family will have great thing and memories to talk about on your final day.

I have been to funeral"s where, they said, the type of life that the person had, and how I guess you would say they said bad things, about the deceased, but it was the truth. And most people at the funeral knew it!

No I can't say that I have. If it was going to happen, it would have a happened at my grandfather's funeral because he was a mean *** of a *****, who beat all this kids, in fact my a couple of my aunts and uncles didn't even attend the funeral, they hated him that bad.

No, but our family loves to tell stories about the loved one who has crossed. We laugh a lot at the funerals. Some think it is disrespectful, but in our family, we are celebrating their life, not mourning their death.

Yeah, they had a whinge about how they were never there etc etc and instead of feeling sad for them i felt resentful. There is a time and a place you know. Plus, doing that is only attention seeking and they should have addressed it when they (the deceased) were still alive.

DON'T THINK SO, IT WAS JUST THEIR WAY OF EXPRESSING THINGS. TRY NOT TO JUDGE AND DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO THEM ABOUT IT. IT'S DONE AND OVER WITH. IT'S FOR OTHERS TO JUDGE. I HAVE BEEN TO FUNERALS WHERE THE DECEASED WAS SO PRAISED AND THEY DIDN'T DESERVE IT, HARD TO FIGURE, THE DEAD CAN DO NO WRONG IN THE EYES OF FAMILY AFTER THEY'RE GONE.
